Last Friday Night...

Friday night was awesome. It was the night of my good friend Louella's birthday and it was so much fun. We firstly went to Karaoke at a place called "The Zoo" in Newmarket and also had dinner there. Then after we went into Town to meet up with the rest of Louella's friends. It was still so early so we decided to get some food at Wendys because Prince missed out on Dinner. It was actually so much fun meeting Louellas friends Mutya, Chi Chi and Deanna. We ended up talking all about everything. Like teenage life and all the crazy stuff we did when we were teenagers. It was pretty fun. We ending up sitting in Wendys for like 2hours just talking and it was actually so much fun. The kind of loud laughing and chatting you do after clubbing we were doing it before hand. Anyway, my good friend Lauren was txting me asking if I was in town and so I told her to come to Wendys to see me and she was wasted off her face which was hilarious and funny. All I remember now from meeting her, was running down Queen St with her arm in arm, Prince and I on either side of her jogging down the road talking about how we are leading everyone when we had NO idea where we were going. I think I lost count with how many clubs we went to... but I know we went to Cassette, Met, Waterfront and Commodore where my good friend Eri works and we got free drinks. Then we went to Krd and checked out Family, Scorpio, Duo and this random Hipster club that was playing music from a pink iPod mini lol it was funny and my shoes kept getting stuck to its sticky ass floor. Then we finished off the night at this Asian club Primo and didnt leave till 5AM. Anyway yeah the photos I took for the night from my phone were SO crap! So please bare with me. For more good pictures from the night check out Louella's blog whenever she wakes up from her Birthday Hangover and updates. I really hope Louella had an Awesome night because I sure did! Happy Birthday Louella, love you!

Karaoke
Clubbing
Deanna's Motorbike!
6AM McDonald's (oh the classiness)
Just a little song I thought sum'd up my Friday night... I know CORNY.

This was my last night out as I am starting Semester 1 on Monday. So definetly tried to party HARD! I really am dreading going back to University... I need more holiday. Yeah I really hope I can still keep updating this blog more regularly... because... I love it here. I have grown very fond of my Blogger. It is so much fun and I love sharing my life here. So I really hope I do not end up abandoning this place. I just think that Blogspot is such a cool and legitimate blogging site and every blog I follow, I find so interesting. Weather they are a fashion blog, style blog, music blog or even a life blog like mine. I love them all.

Let's try to finish on a positive note and I will permit you all to laugh at me trying to RAP in Korean. The song is called "Turn it up" by T.O.P and this is just a little video of me attempting to well do it. I was actually really nervous the whole time because I wasn't really sure about the words. I actually thought I did really well with my "Lucifer" by SHINee hahaha It was good fun!

pronounced "mew-sick"

I feel like making a music post at 2:40AM in ZEE morning of course. Just decided to share some tracks that I just feel like sharing. SO yeah give them a listen, maybe even leave some feedback of my choices and maybe tell me some of the Jams you like to listen to at the moment.

The Knife - Heartbeats
An oldy but an absolute goody. Definitely one of my favourite tracks of ALL time, (YES, like how Kanye says it "OF ALL TIME!" and I just think it is perfection. And I don't know how but the live version actually sounds like a million times better than the studio version which really is what you want from a true artist right. Anyway this song and everything about it is so magical and eerie and ambient. I just can not explain how much in love I am with this son. It is my all time number 1 favourite song. it just really sums up life and how I wish life to feel like.

Cut Off Your Hands - Turn Cold
Just every single lyric of this song. The riff and just everything. Definitely one of the only New Zealand bands I actually love. They are awesome. They are pretty much an Indie Gold mine.

"somehow I waste all our time, if by some chance our stars don't align"

Shelby Barnachea - Barely Holding On.
One of my all time favourite Youtube musicians. Shelby is such an amazing Singer Song Writer! Her music and lyrics are just so relevant and beautiful and the tone and strength of her voice is really unlike anyone else! I actually prefer a lot of her original songs rather than her covers of many of my favourites such as Two Door Cinema Club, Black Kids, Mgmt etc... and yeah just someone I think will be cool to share with everyone.

Ed Sheeran - We are.
He is Ginger, plays the guitar and can beatbox! I mean he is just the definition of AWESOME! I randomly stumbled upon this guy on Youtube because he did a cover of the Labyrinth son "let the Sunshine" (I think that is what it is called) and he was just so cool and quirky. This song is extra awesome because he was able to kind of layer intrumentals and vocals over eachother in such a bad ass way. This kid is cool!

SHINee - Hello
Yes, I have caught the KPOP bug and well I really do not mind. My friends have been listening to KPOP since the beginning of 2009 and well I was really hesitant to get into it but then late last year, early January I gave in and now I am seriously IN LOVE with Korean POP Idols. With my favourites being BIG BANG, SHINee, F.T Island, B2St and 2NE1 (FIGHTING!) and this song really epitomises KPOP to me. It is cute, bright, colourful and full of cheesy-ness that really is the beauty of KPOP. Although mind you KPOP does have intense SWAGGER. Check out any TOP&GD track or any 2ne1 vid and you will see the Asian Swag just splashing out at you.

Now I am just going to stick in a couple more music videos that I like without explanation because I am getting the SLEEP BUG right now even as I type. I really do see myself waking up tmrw and either hitting the Spell Check HARD! or just deleteing this post all together. It is actually really good that I am making this post at 3AM in the morning because I will not be able to blog tmrw as I am going out :)

And just one more...

Goodnight sweet heeart.

"I wish I could quit you..."

Thursday today, and I was meant to go out shopping with my girl Haylie but I woke up at around 12:30ish and I was tired and my bank account was anorexic so therefore just another day at home. So I then decided I wanted to make another blog post and choose a topic to talk about. So I decided to talk about my nasty habit of smoking and hoarding/collecting cigarette packets. I really DO NOT know why I collect empty cigarette packets. I mean I really should just throw them all away because I mean to be honest they really are just piling up! I have so many I put some of them in a shoe box. At first I thought it was cool and now I really just want to throw them all away. But then I keep thinking maybe I could do an interesting photo shoot involving a couple dozen empty packets, but then I thought to myself that the Holiday20Red Packets are really quite ugly to be frank. They are these bright blue things that are very reminiscent of those tacky Hawaiian shirts that no one likes that really are only excusable to wear if you are on holiday in a tropical Island. Anyway another point is why do I smoke at all! To be honest I do find it a disgusting habit. But the thing is if I go a day without smoking I feel kinda crazy. This obviously means I am addicted to smoking, which is something I never thought I would be a long time ago. And I hate the price of cigarettes! I mean one pack of the ones I like costs freaking $12.60! I mean that is just disgusting. But still I find myself at the dairy down the road buying myself a pack of 20 as soon as I run out. Anyway, one day maybe in the distant future I will properly quit, but at the moment I just don't think I have the strength to. Especially with University starting just around the corner, stress increase means more smokey for me. I dont do drugs though. I mean I am not addicted to weed, meth or any of that hardcore stuff, I seriously wont even give it a try. I also only really drink alcohol maybe once a month and only in social occasions. So smoking really is my only vice. Oh and Chinese food. :) Here are some pics of some of the cigarette packets I have collected over maybe 5 months. I actually threw a bunch of em away, and some packets I throw out when I am out with people.

My day today.

Had a very chill relax day today with all the Christchurch stuff still on my mind. I really do feel for everyone down there. Anyway here are some photos from my day today with my nieces. I was also pleasantly shocked that my sister took a bunch of photos of my nieces today. Which is awesome because now I have some more pictures I to blog about. There are some really cute photos of my youngest niece Cinta who I bought a cream doughnut for today and by the looks of it most of it got on her face. There are also some pics of my older niece Nikala in her primary school uniform looking cute as hell :) I should be going shopping tmrw with HAylie so that should be fun. I am also looking forward to my good friend Louellas birthday on Friday :) Can not wait. Hope everyone else is good and keeping Christchurch in there prayers.

Christchurch Earthquake 22/02/2011

My heart seriously goes out to everyone affected by this devastating tragedy. Watching all these news reports, videos, pictures, facebook status', and tweets is so heart wrenching. Right now as I am typing this, 65 people have been confirmed dead. It is so depressing and a horrific tragedy. It really is the worst day in New Zealand history in my life. I know I am not from there and it does not effect me directly but I really do feel for everyone there as a New Zealander and as a human being. The devastation that this earthquake has caused and all the pain that I can see on the people from the videos I have seen is just awful and the death toll will only rise as they find more bodies under rubble. One of the worst things to happen is that the cathedral in Christchurch was destroyed with the Cathedral Spire being destroyed. I also just saw John Key on 3 News and he looked very distraught. So did the Christchurch mayor.

"This maybe our darkest day..." - PM John key.

Here were some tweets I just capped from my timeline...

One of the most tragic videos I saw was of these two woman coming back to work after lunch and seeing them react to there entire workplace being destroyed. All there friends and there careers trapped in a collapsed building with people screaming from inside for help. They just breakdown into tears and cry. I just imagined if I was in that position and just staring at the building I work with all my workmates I would be just as emotional. It really was like watching a really scary natural disaster movie. With the camera man running around and the reporter panting and looking at all the wreckage and destruction around them. I seriously feel for everyone trapped inside buildings and under tables or under large blocks of cement. It is such a traumatic event. This woman, ANN VOSS, was on the phone talking to the news anchor on Channel 3, she was telling him how she had called her family and told them all goodbye because she was trapped and she thought she was not going to make it... so heart breaking.

This is such a sad and miserable day in New Zealand history. This is just some stuff I quickly collated of what I could find about todays earthquake. I just seriously hope that the death toll does not go up in into insurmountable numbers. I mean 65 dead already! That is 65 families effected, but not only that all there friends, neighbors, partners and everyone in there community. This is such an tragic day that New Zealanders need to join together to help each other. I really will do all I can to help out from here all the way in Auckland with anything I can do. If you are from New Zealand you should do the same also!

So go somewhere and give blood or if you can you should donate what you can to the Red Cross here http://www.redcross.org.nz/donate Here are some more images I found online of the devastation of today. I dont really do "Life Blogs" like this that are not about my own life but I found that this really is relevant to my life right now and to everyone in New Zealands life at this moment in time. I really, really hope that there will be more amazing stories of people being saved rather then people being pulled out of rubble.

feeling better.

Spent today with my nieces. They really are a sure fire way of cheering me up. It is really hard to think any kind of negative thoughts when I am around them. They were so cute. They drew me some pictures because I told them I was feeling a bit down and they cheered me up and beat me up at the same time. Then later on my other niece Nina came over and asked me if I could crank out the old Nintendo 64 (Yes, SOOO OLD SCHOOL) and they decided to play the Mario game which I used to LOVE. Right now they are all crashed out in the lounge with my mum while I am here in my room typing this. I am so grateful for them.

Nikala (5), Anita (3), Jacinta (1) and Nina (8).

Beach Day and Lantern Festival.

Today was a very up and down day for me. Had a really nice time at the beach with my film buddies and then suddenly felt really moody by the time I spent maybe an hour at the Lantern Festival. I really was feeling ill and very on edge and I think I had to leave before I just lost it. The whole bus ride home, my mind went totally blank and by the time I reached home which takes an hour, I felt so empty... Idk I still had a good day though seeing everyone, I just wish I was up for it. But I really wasn't. Anyway here are some pics of my day today. I hope tomorow I feel much better.

BEACH DAY

LANTERN FESTIVAL

Anyway, those were all the photos I took before I left early... wish I could have stayed and felt better. But yeah wont be posting for a while I think. Will not be doing much this weekend, I should probably spend it on some more me time and focus on being a better person...

Thank you for reading I hope everything is good on your side of the screen.
